Quality, Health & Safety and Environment

In August 2008 Howden Turbowerke achieved certifications in respect of the management systems which it deploys to cover quality assurance (ISO 9001:2000), environmental responsibilities (ISO 14001:2004) and health & safety (SCC:2006). Our certification not only covers the design, supply and commissioning of our products, it encompasses every aspect of our services, spare parts supplies and on-site activities. We are dedicated to maintaining a quality management system that aims to improve customer satisfaction by facilitating the delivery of contracts safely and on time. The system can be reviewed at any time by anyone within Howden Turbowerke and also by authorised third parties, and their suggestions are regularly incorporated into the system to create a process of continuous improvement.

We are continually raising the awareness of all employees through training and by setting management objectives we maintain an ongoing challenge to raise performance in the areas of quality assurance and health & operational safety. These programmes support our policy of continuous improvement.
 
In addition, we have gained a GOST-R certificate that enables us to deliver to the Russian market. We also have certification for Welding of Rail-Bound Vehicles and Vehicle Components to DIN 6700-2 and a manufacturer's qualification for Welding of Steel Structures to DIN 18800-7:2002-09. These allow us to offer our products to the railway industries.
