Case Study: In 1996 Howden modified air preheaters at Ensted Power Station to accept new gas conditions imposed by the retrofit of an SCR plant. New elements, cleaning lances and sealing systems have resulted in the plant operating successfully.

Howden Spain manufactures replacement elements for all type of regenerative air preheaters and gas-gas heaters irrespective of the original manufacturer. We also supply package air preheaters up to size 22.  We also carry out repair and maintenance of rotary air and gas heat exchangers, fans, and other similar equipment, on power stations and industrial plant in Spain and Portugal.

We are accredited to ISO 9001 and are regularly audited by major customers and internationally recognized assessment organizations.

Our newly built production facility at La Union in Spain has a capacity of over 20,000 tones per year. We have invested heavily in the latest modern manufacturing technology and our production facilities are staffed by experienced engineers and fully qualified operators.  This enables us to address the needs of each major market and to respond quickly and effectively to customers’ demands.

Howden Spain supplies a wide range of element profiles and basket designs for rotary regenerative heat exchangers (air preheaters and gas-gas heaters).

Parts & Services
Howden Spain is focused on the aftermarket. It does not limit itself to supplying replacement element baskets for Howden heat exchangers, but can supply elements for virtually every rotary air preheater and gas-gas heater design operating today.

Industries
Howden Spain supplies replacement element baskets for rotary heat exchangers throughout the world, except China, Australia and SE Asia. These products are mainly used in power generation (boilers, flue gas desulphurization and selective catalytic reduction) and petrochemicals.


Howden Launch Training Academy

Howden has partnered with Glasgow Caledonian University to create Howden Academy – a new international post graduate programme based at the university which will deliver specialist operational training to hundreds of Howden’s engineering graduates from 16 countries over the next few years.
